Blank Message Screen

  1. When this happens, connect DRB-II to a different vehicle. If message screen is still blank, DRB-II or cable adapter is faulty. Substitute another DRB-II to find faulty component.
  2. If message screen is not blank when DRB-II is connected to another vehicle, DRB-II and cable adapter are functioning properly. Inspect original vehicle's diagnostic connector for proper wire placement, damaged terminals or pushed out pins. Repair as necessary.
  3. If diagnostic connector is okay, using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and Black/White wire at engine diagnostic connector. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair open in Black/White wire.
