Repair and Diagnosis: Transmission: Clutches: Description
Clutches in all models are a single plate, dry disc-type with a self-adjusting cable release mechanism. The clutch pedal is connected to a torque shaft which actuates a cable and lever. The upper end of the clutch pedal pivots on the pedal bracket using 2 nylon bushings, which do not require periodic lubrication. A constant-running clutch release bearing is used on all models.
NOTE:
The clutch disc splines are different for 1991 models. DO NOT use any previous model year clutch discs, as clutch and input spline failure will result.
