Test 3A - Automatic Door Locks W/Keyless Entry System
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
- Ensure left front window is still down, all doors are closed and key is removed from ignition switch. Depress power door lock switch to LOCK position. If all doors lock, perform TEST 4A .
- If all door locks do not lock, turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off. Using DRB-II, actuate door lock test. If all doors lock, perform TEST 3B . If all doors do not lock, check if driver's door locks. If driver's door locks, perform TEST 3C . If driver's door does not lock, check if remaining doors lock. If remaining doors lock, perform TEST 3D . If remaining doors do not lock, go to next step.
- Put DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Backprobe terminal No. 21 (Orange/White wire) of body controller Black connector while actuating door lock test using DRB-II. If voltage pulsates between 0 and 12 volts, perform TEST 3E . If voltage does not pulsate between 0 and 12 volts, stop door lock actuation test using DRB-II. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Disconnect remote keyless entry module Black connector. See Fig 1. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 4 (Black wire) of remote keyless entry module Black connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Probe terminal No. 21 (Orange/White connector) of body controller Black connector.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
