TEST 12C - Checking Courtesy Light Input Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
- Remove and inspect fuse No. 12 at fuse block. If fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is blown, disconnect body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Ensure courtesy light switch on headlight switch is off, all doors, trunk and hood are closed.
- Probe output terminal (at fuse block) from fuse No. 12. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink wire and replace fuse No. 12. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, reconnect body controller Black connector.
- Probe output terminal (at fuse block) from fuse No. 12. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace body controller and fuse No. 12. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace fuse No. 12. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
- If fuse No. 12 is okay in step 1), put DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Probe input terminal (at fuse block) to fuse No. 12. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Remove and inspect fuse "E" from power distribution center. Power distribution center is located in engine compartment near left shock tower. If fuse is blown, go to step 7). If fuse is okay, probe input terminal (in power distribution center) to fuse "E".
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair or replace power distribution center. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Black/tracer wire (color of tracer may vary) between power distribution center and fuse block. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
- If fuse is blown in step 5), put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe output terminal (in power distribution center) from fuse "E". If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/tracer wire (color of tracer may vary) and replace fuse "E". Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
