Removal (Turn Signal Switch)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD  removal & installation in this article. Remove sound dampening panel from under steering column, if equipped. Remove lower instrument panel bezel.
  2. Remove wiring trough by prying out plastic retainer clips. Position shift lever to its full clockwise position. Disconnect turn signal connector. Remove screw holding wiper/washer switch to turn signal switch pivot. Leave entire turn signal lever in its installed position.
  3. Remove screws attaching turn signal switch to upper bearing housing. Tape wiring harness connector to wiring harness. Remove turn signal switch assembly by gently pulling switch up from column while straightening and guiding wires up through column opening.
