Combination Oil Sending Unit

  1. With engine off, disconnect combination oil sending unit locking connector. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . To check low oil pressure warning light circuit, measure resistance between switch (light) terminal and metal housing of sending unit. See Fig 3 . There should be less than 0 (zero) ohms.
  2. Start engine. There should be between an open circuit (C, L and Y bodies) or 30-55 ohms (all others), depending on engine speed, oil temperature, and oil viscosity. If reading is not within specification, replace sending unit.
