Blank Message Screen
- Turn ignition off and disconnect DRB-II, adapter cable and cartridge. Find a second vehicle with equipment identical to the original vehicle.
- Connect DRB-II to substitute (second) vehicle and use DRB-II as on original vehicle. If message screen is still blank, adapter cable or DRB-II is faulty. Substitute adapter cable with a known good cable to find faulty component.
- If message screen is not blank, DRB-II and cable adapter are functioning properly. Inspect diagnostic connector for proper wire placement, corrosion, damaged terminals or pushed-out pins. Repair as necessary.
- If diagnostic connector is okay, use an external voltmeter to check Red wire at CCD bus diagnostic connector for voltage. CCD bus diagnostic connector is located under driver's side of instrument cluster.
- If voltmeter reading at Red wire is at least 9 volts, repair open in CCD bus diagnostic connector Black/MD10Light Green (ground) wire. If voltage is not 9 volts, repair open in Red wire back to battery.
