Rectifier Assembly Test

  1. Check rectifier assembly for poor solder joints, cracks, or signs of overheating. Using an ohmmeter, test for continuity from positive diode pin to positive heat sink. See Fig 1.
  2. Reverse ohmmeter test probes and repeat test. Test should show continuity in one direction only. Test for continuity from negative diode pin to negative heat sink.
  3. Reverse ohmmeter test probes and repeat test. Test should show continuity in one direction only. If failure is detected in either test, replace rectifier assembly.
