Engine Running Test Mode

  1. Engine Running Test Mode can be performed with engine at idle, transmission in Neutral and parking brake on, or while driving the car. Connect DRB-II to engine harness connector. Set DRB-II to Engine Running Test Mode.
  2. To select a test code, press "Read/Hold" key until "READ" is displayed. When the oxygen sensor is at operating temperature, the DRB-II will display "0" for a lean signal and "1" for a rich signal.
  3. When the engine is running in Park or Neutral and O2 switching is displayed, the AIS motor can be checked by pressing "Read/Hold" key until "HOLD" is displayed. Engine speed should increase to 1500 RPM.
  4. With engine running, O2 switching and "READ" displayed on DRB-II, select Engine Running Test codes by pressing "F3" key. To enter desired Engine Running Test code, press "Enter" key. Press "Read/Hold" key until "HOLD" is displayed.
  5. The SMEC will now use DRB-II to display the output of a selected sensor or run engine in a specific mode for diagnosis. To select another Engine Running Test code, press "Read/Hold" key until "READ" is displayed and press "F3" key.
  6. To return to O2 sensor switching, press "Read/Hold" key until "READ" is displayed. Press and hold "ATM" key until "0" or "1" appears on display.
