NS-12 - Checking System For Fault Codes

  1. Connect DRB-II to engine harness connector. Erase fault codes. Turn ignition switch to "RUN" position for 5 seconds. Crank engine for 7 seconds and return ignition switch to "RUN" position for 5 seconds. Turn ignition off. Put system in Diagnostic Test Mode. Record all codes. If 88-12-55 (no fault codes) is displayed, repair the Dark Green/Black wire of auto shutdown relay for an open circuit.
  2. If no code 88 or 00 (system power circuits), go to NS-13  . If code 88-11-12-55 (distributor reference pick-up circuit) is displayed, go to NS-14  . If code 88-42-55 (auto shutdown relay pull-in coil circuit) is displayed, go to NS-15  . If code 88-44-55 is displayed, go to NS-17  .
  3. If codes 88-12-14-22-24-55 or 88-12-14-22-23-24-55 are displayed, repair Black/Light Blue wire to 60-pin connector cavity No. 4 for an open circuit. If code 88-12-54-55 (distributor sync pick-up circuit) is displayed, go to NS-16  .
