5.2L EFC System/Testing: Description: Sensors
Engine control sensors supply the Spark Control Computer (SCC) with information needed to fire the spark plugs at the right time and change the air/fuel mixture. Spark advance provided by computer is determined by input factors from coolant temperature, engine RPM, and available manifold vacuum. Air/fuel mixture information comes from the oxygen sensor and carburetor idle stop switch.
Other sensors include, magnetic pick-up assembly, charge temperature sensor, vacuum transducer, distance/speed sensor, and detonation sensor.
