Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch

The coolant temperature sensor/switch is located in the intake manifold. It informs the SCC when the engine has reached normal operating temperature. It prevents any changes from being made until such temperature is reached, permitting proper adjustment of the air/fuel ratio. The coolant temperature sensor/switch also controls the amount of ignition timing advance or retard when the engine is cold.
