Detonation Sensor (Conquest)

Detonation sensor is located in cylinder block, converts engine vibration into an electrical signal. This signal is processed by the Electronic Spark Control (ESC) ignitor and relayed to ECU for determining ignition timing retard. The ECU sends a signal to ESC ignitor to modify ignition timing.

Turbo wastegate solenoid valve is deactivated by ignitor when detonation signal is received, keeping boost pressure low.
