Automatic Idle Speed Motor (AIS)

The automatic idle speed motor is operated by the SMEC. Data from throttle position sensor, speed sensor, coolant temperature sensor, and various switch operations, are used by the SMEC to adjust engine idle. The AIS adjusts the air portion of the air fuel mixture through an air by-pass as an increase or decrease is needed.
