EFC CEC Testing/R & I: Description: Notes

The Electronic Fuel Control System (EFC) is used on Federal and California vehicles and Electronic Spark Control (ESC) is used on Canada vehicle models. Both systems consist of a Spark Control Computer (SCC), various engine sensors, a specially calibrated carburetor and a dual pick-up distributor. The purpose of the system is to provide a way for the engine to burn or maintain the ideal air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1 in almost all operating conditions.
