Purge Solenoid

Logic module controls purge solenoid based upon engine temperature. Solenoid is grounded by logic module when engine is cold. This energizes solenoid so no vacuum will reach charcoal canister purge valve. When engine operating temperature reaches 145°F (61°C), logic module removes ground from solenoid and vacuum will reach canister purge valve. Fuel vapors will then be purged through throttle body.
