Oil Supply

A turbocharger can attain rotational speeds of 140,000 RPM. An uninterrupted flow of clean engine oil is absolutely necessary for proper operation of assembly. The oil is fed directly into the center housing rotating assembly. An oil feed pipe runs from a fitting on the engine block to the turbocharger. Any interruption or contamination of the oil will result in major turbocharger damage.

The oil and filter must be changed, and the turbocharger flushed with clean oil ANYTIME there is evidence of ANY type of contamination. Oil and filter should also be changed any time the center housing rotating assembly is replaced.
