Fuel Pressure Regulator
Mechanical fuel pressure regulator, located on top of throttle body, is downstream from fuel injector in fuel circuit. Regulator is equipped with spring loaded rubber diaphragm which covers port of fuel return line. Excess fuel flows past injector and enters regulator. Fuel is restricted from flowing back to tank by blocked return port. When fuel pressure reaches 14.5 psi (1.0 kg/cm2 ), spring compresses enough to allow fuel into return line. Diaphragm and spring assembly constantly open and close to maintain fuel pressure at constant value.
