Fuel Injectors & Rail Assembly: Removal
- Release fuel system pressure. Loosen supply hose clamp at inlet of fuel rail. Remove fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose at intake manifold vacuum tee. Remove screw holding regulator to intake manifold bracket. Remove hose clamp from regulator. Remove regulator with hose.
- Separate injector wiring harness at connector. Remove fuel rails with brackets over valve cover. Remove fuel rail brackets from valve covers. Remove 4 screws holding rail to intake manifold.
- Remove rail and injectors together, pulling up on rail so that injectors come straight out of ports. Use care and collect all injector "O" rings from ports. Remove fuel rail from vehicle. If fuel injectors are to be removed, hold rail and remove clips holding injectors to rail. Remove fuel injectors from rail.
