Warm Dr16 - Engine Idle Rpm

  1. Turn off all lights and accessories. Connect a tachometer to engine. Disconnect radiator cooling fan, and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn engine off. Disconnect the battery negative cable for 3 seconds and then reconnect it. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector, and restart the engine.
  2. Increase engine speed to 2500 RPM for 10 seconds and permit it to return to idle speed. Wait 2 minutes for engine speed to stabilize. Idle speed should be 700-900 RPM. If idle speed is okay, proceed to next test.
  3. If idle speed is not okay, turn idle speed screw until correct RPM is achieved.
