Diagnostic Sequence

  1. Connect diagnostic readout box (DRB) to engine harness connector. Turn ignition on-off-on-off-on within 5 seconds. Record all codes. Turn ignition off. Disconnect and reconnect battery connector. Start engine.
    CAUTION: DO NOT  depress accelerator pedal to start engine.
  2. Observe power loss lamp and record whether or not light is on. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on-off-on-off-on within 5 seconds. Record all codes.
  3. If same code appears before and after engine is started, problem still exists. Proceed to tests indicated in steps 4) or 5). If code does not reappear after engine is started, the problem no longer exists, but is intermittent. Check for loose or corroded wiring connections in the circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  4. If code 13 is displayed and power loss lamp is on, go to LIMP-IN 1  . If code 14 and then codes 13 and 14 are displayed and power loss lamp is on, go to LIMP-IN 2  . If codes 13 and 14 are displayed and power loss lamp is on, go to LIMP-IN 3  . If a code 22 is displayed and pthe ower loss lamp is on, proceed to LIMP-IN 4  .
  5. If a code 23 is displayed and the power loss lamp is on, go to LIMP-IN 5  . If a code 24 is displayed and the power loss lamp is on, go to LIMP-IN 6  . If a code 32 is displayed and the power loss lamp is on, proceed to LIMP-IN 7  .
  6. A code 88 indicates start of test sequence. A code 12 indicates battery feed to logic module has been disconnected. A code 55 indicates end of test sequence.
