Limp-In 1 - Code 13 & Power Loss Lamp "On"

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect voltmeter to MAP sensor connector Voilet/White wire and ground. DO NOT  disconnect connector from MAP sensor. Turn ignition switch to "RUN" position. Voltmeter reading should be 4.5-5.5 volts. If voltage reading is not okay, go to step 3).
  2. If voltage reading is okay, turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor vacuum hose. Connect a vacuum pump to MAP sensor. Turn ignition switch to "RUN" position. Apply 15 in. Hg vacuum. Start engine. Power loss lamp should be off. If power loss lamp is off, repair vacuum supply to MAP sensor. If power loss lamp is on, replace MAP sensor.

  3. With voltmeter connected to Voilet/White wire and ground, and ignition switch in the "RUN" position, disconnect MAP sensor connector. Voltmeter reading should be 4.5-5.5 volts. If voltage reading is okay, replace MAP sensor.
  4. If voltmeter reading is not okay, connect voltmeter to logic module Red connector cavity No. 4 and ground. DO NOT  disconnect connector from logic module. Voltmeter reading should be 4.5-5.5 volts. If voltage reading is okay, repair wire to cavity No. 4 for an open circuit to MAP sensor. If voltage reading is not okay, replace logic module.
