Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1 / 5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  2. Remove underbody panels as necessary. Underbody Panel Component Locator

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Disconnect the power steering control module wiring torque sensor harness (1) from the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear.

    Disconnect the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness (1) from the power steering assist motor.

  5. Remove the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness clip (2) from the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear housing.
  6. Remove the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness (1).
