Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Remove [2x]

  3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Remove [2x]
  4. Grasp the outer end of the windshield wiper arm (3) and gently rock the arm back and forth to remove it from the left and right side windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.

    Release the outer two retainers first, then release the remaining four retainers.

  6. Air Inlet Grille Panel Access Hole Cover (1) - Remove

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  13. Front Compartment Side Sight Shield - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Windshield Washer Pump Hose (1) - Disconnect

    NOTE:

    Front storage compartment is shown transparent to highlight retainer locations.

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [6x]

    Lift up on the leading edge of the air inlet grille panel assembly and pull towards the front of the vehicle.

  17. Air Inlet Grille Panel (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover (1) - Remove

    Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) - Remove

  21. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) - Remove
  22. {If equipped} Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  24. NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the front view camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

  25. Release the retaining tabs and rotate the front view camera (1) downward and slide the front view camera rearward to release.

    Windshield Outside Moisture/Ambient Light and Humidity Sensor (1) - Remove and DISCARD

  28. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT remove or service the sensor farm pins.

    Release the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.

  30. Gently pull the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) away from the windshield.
  31. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
    • Upper Dash Pad
    • The defroster outlets and A/C outlets
    • The seats and carpeting
  32. {If equipped} Remove the lower windshield supports from the cowl panel.
  33. NOTE:

    Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.

  34. {If equipped} Using the appropriate tool, carefully cut around the lace, start in the center working from side to side of the window to access the urethane adhesive bead.

    NOTE:

    Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

    Use commercially available glass cutting tool.

    • Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
    • The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
