Circuit / System Testing

  1. Ignition / Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  2. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: X1 @ X85 Steering Wheel Air Bag Coil
  3. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  4. Test for less than 10 ohms between the test points: Low Reference circuit terminal 18 & Ground
    • If 10 ohms or greater 
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector: X8 @ K124 Image Processing Module
      • X8 @ K124 Image Processing Module with UKL
      • X1 @ K124 Image Processing Module with UKR
    2. Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Low Reference circuit terminal 18 @ Component harness & Terminal 1 X8 @ Control module harness
      • If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open / high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component: K124 Image Processing Module
    • Go to next step: If less than 10 ohms 
  5. Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 17 & Ground
    • If greater than 1 V 
    1. Ignition / Vehicle - Off
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector: X8 @ K124 Image Processing Module
    3. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
    4. Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 3 @ Component harness & Ground
      • If 1 V or greater - Repair the short to voltage on circuit 2245.
      • If less than 1 V - proceed to Step 7.
    • If less than 1 V 
  6. Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 13 @ component harness & Ground
    • If greater than 1 V 
    1. Ignition / Vehicle - Off
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector: X8 @ K124 Image Processing Module
    3. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
    4. Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
      • If 1 V or greater - Repair the short to voltage on circuit 2246.
      • If less than 1 V - Replace the component: K124 Image Processing Module
    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V 
  7. Ignition / Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  8. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Control circuit terminal 17 & Ground
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on circuit 2245.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  9. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Control circuit terminal 13 & Ground
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on circuit 2246.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  10. Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Control circuit terminal 17 & The other end of the circuit
    • If greater than 2 ohms 

      Repair the open / high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms 
  11. Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Control circuit terminal 13 & The other end of the circuit
    • If greater than 2 ohms 

      Repair the open / high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms 
  12. Replace the component: P51 Steering Wheel LED Display
