Installation Procedure
- Clean the contact surfaces between the transfer case and the transmission.
- NOTE:
Ensure the power transfer unit interface O-ring seal is removed and a NEW seal is installed when the original transfer case will be re-installed.
If necessary, install the power transfer unit interface O-ring seal (1).
Support the transfer case with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
- Raise and align the transfer case in the correct position in relation to the transmission.
- Install the transfer case (2) to the transmission.
- Install the transfer case-to-transmission bolts (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
Connect the transfer case vent hose (1) to the transfer case (2).
Install the transfer case-to-transmission bolt (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
Install the transmission to transfer case bolt (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
Install the brace bolt (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Connect the shift actuator electrical connector.
- Install the transfer case bracket. Transfer Case Bracket Replacement
- Install the transmission mount strut bracket. Transmission Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
Install the front transmission mount through bolt. Transmission Mount Replacement (Front)
- Install the exhaust front muffler. Exhaust Front Muffler with Exhaust Aftertreatment Replacement (LFY)
- Connect the two piece propeller shaft from the transfer case. Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
- Check power transfer case fluid level. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities , and Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Fill and inspect the transmission fluid level. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
