Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering control module wiring power harness.

    Install the power steering control module wiring power harness clip (2) to the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear housing.

  3. Connect the power steering control module wiring power harness (1) to the power steering assist motor.

    Connect the power steering control module wiring power harness (2) to the main power steering wiring harness (1).

    Position the power steering control module wiring power harness (1) into the 2 retaining clips (2).

    {without NZZ} Install the steering gear skid shield:

    1. Steering Gear Skid Shield (2) - Install
    2. Steering Gear Skid Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    {with NZZ} Install the underbody skid shield:

    1. Underbody Skid Shield (2) - Install
    2. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Splash Shield (2) - Install - Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (High Country) , or Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (ZR2) , or Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (Trail Boss) , or Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (ULV)

    {If equipped} Retainer Clip (1) - Install

  10. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (-KL9) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
