Throttle Body Cleaning

  1. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement 
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    3. WARNING:

    Turn OFF the ignition before inserting fingers into the throttle bore. Unexpected movement of the throttle blade could cause personal injury.

    CAUTION:

    Do not insert any tools into the throttle body bore in order to avoid damage to the throttle valve plate.

    NOTE:

    DO NOT prop open the throttle blade with the ignition key in the ON position as it may set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

  3. Inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits. You must open the throttle valve in order to inspect all of the surfaces.
    4. CAUTION:

    Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.

  4. Clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel and approved cleaner.
  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube - Install - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement 
  7. Perform the following procedure/test: Diagnostic Repair Verification
  8. Perform the configuration/reset function: Throttle Body Idle Air Flow Compensation Reset
