Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement .
- Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
Remove the catalytic converter brace bracket bolts (1), nuts (2) and catalytic converter brace bracket (3).
- Lower the vehicle.
Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor 1 connector.
Remove the catalytic converter heat shield bolts (1) and remove the catalytic converter heat shield.
Remove the catalytic converter nuts (1).
- Remove the catalytic converter (2) and gasket.
Remove the catalytic converter (1) and gasket (2) from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
