Installation Procedure

    Steering Column (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    Support the steering column while installing the steering column nuts.

    Steering Column Nut (1) - Install and hand tighten [4x]

  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Steering Column Nut (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @ Steering Column - Install - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement 

  6. Connect the steering column electrical connectors.

    CAUTION:

    The anti-rotation pin must be removed from the steering column before installing the steering wheel. Ensure that the steering wheel bolt is torqued to specification during steering wheel installation. Over torquing the steering wheel bolt can result in damage to the steering column rivets which will disable the telescoping mechanism. If the steering column rivets are damaged, a new steering column must be installed.

    Remove the device used to prevent steering column rotation.

  8. Steering Wheel (2) - Install - Steering Wheel Replacement

    Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (1) - Install - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) - Install - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement

    Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) - Install - Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (N37) 

  12. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  13. Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
  14. Perform functionality check of tilt and telescoping features.
