Removal Procedure

- Remove the transfer case bracket. Transfer Case Bracket Replacement
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement
- Disconnect the two piece propeller shaft from the transfer case. Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
Remove the front transmission mount through bolt. Transmission Mount Replacement (Front) , or Transmission Mount Replacement (Left)
- Remove the transmission mount strut bracket. Transmission Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (All Wheel Drive) , or Transmission Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)
- Disconnect the shift actuator electrical connector.
Remove the transmission to transfer case bolt (1).
- Support the transfer case with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
Remove the transfer case-to-transmission bolt (1).
Disconnect the transfer case vent hose (1) from the transfer case (2).
Remove the remaining transfer case-to-transmission bolts (1).
- Separate the transfer case (2) from the transmission and remove the transfer case.
