Filling Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    Install the front differential carrier oil drain plug (1) to the front differential carrier and tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Clean any dirt from around the front differential carrier oil filler plug (1).

  3. Remove the front differential carrier oil filler plug (1) from the front differential carrier.
  4. Fill the front differential carrier with the appropriate amount and type of axle lubricant:
    5. NOTE:

    Do NOT overfill the front differential carrier. Overfilling the front differential carrier can cause leakage out the differential housing vent.

  5. Inspect the gear lubricant level to ensure it is at the bottom of the plug opening.
  6. Install the front differential carrier oil filler plug (1) to the front differential carrier and tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (1) - Install

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 6x ] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Install

  10. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 5x ] - Fastener Specifications
  11. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [ 2x ]

    Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  13. Engine Front Splash ShieldRetainer (2) - Install
  14. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  16. Engine Front Splash ShieldRetainer (2) - Install
  17. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air DeflectorRetainer (2) - Install [ 2x ]

  19. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 5x ] - Fastener Specifications
  20. Lower the vehicle.
