Installation Procedure

Prior to installing the differential carrier. Review the clutch control module programming information. It may be necessary to record the rear differential clutch service calibration values found stamped in the differential housing.

Position the differential carrier (1) in the vehicle.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install and tighten the 2 differential carrier rear bolts (1). 100 N.m (74 lb ft)

NOTE:
It is essential to properly torque the differential carrier bolt.

Install and tighten the differential carrier front bolt (1).160 N.m (118 lb ft)

Reconnect the electrical connector (1) for the differential control module.

NOTE:

During installation align the balance reference marks between the propeller shaft to the differential carrier assembly.
During installation align the balance reference marks between the propeller shaft to the power transfer unit.

Install the propeller shaft. Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
Refill the differential carrier. Rear Axle Lubricant Replacement
Install the rear wheel drive shafts:
- Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side
- Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
