Calculated Throttle Position 0 km/h (0 MPH) 0% The accelerator effective position, which represents the driver's intended request for torque or acceleration. It is determined from the maximum of the driver requests to open the throttle (e.g., accelerator pedal, cruise control, PTO, etc.) and is normalized to 0 to 100 %, where 0 % represents an idle or coast request and 100% represents a request for wide open throttle (WOT). It is the primary indication of accelerator position / throttle position used by transmission control algorithms and, thus, is often referred to as transmission throttle position. In the event that the engine is operating in a forced idle mode due to an accelerator pedal position fault, the accelerator effective position will have a value of 0 %, corresponding to an idle request.
