Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front of the left side instrument panel outer trim cover (1) and work your way back to release the clips to remove.

    Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  4. Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Driver Side (2) - Remove
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Slide the hood primary latch release cable handle (1) back to remove the hood primary latch release cable handle from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove

  8. Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  9. Instrument Panel Insulator Nut (3) - Remove [2x]

    Use a plastic trim tool to release the tabs from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Move the steering column up so you can access the lower left corner of the instrument panel center trim pad (1).

  14. Start with a flat-bladed plastic trim tool in the lower left corner of the instrument panel center trim pad (1) and work your way clockwise.
  15. Instrument Panel Center Trim Pad (1) - Remove
  16. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Data Link Connector Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  18. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]

    Pull instrument panel knee bolster (1) rear ward to disengage the clips, and lower past the instrument panel knee bolster deflector studs and remove.

  20. Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.

    Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Remove

  22. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side- Outer (2) - Remove
  23. Disconnect the instrument panel compartment air duct at the air conditioning evaporator and blower case and position out of way.

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  25. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Upper and Blow Lower Case Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Programmable Temperature Valve Actuator- Left Side (1) - Remove
