Spot Weld Removal / Spot Weld Installation
- Remove spot weld (1).
- Prepare all joining surfaces for welding as necessary.
- Apply weld-thru coating or equivalent to all welding surfaces. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
- Replace spot weld (2).
NOTE:
Squeeze Type Resistance Spot Welds (STRSW) are recommended if possible.
NOTE:
The following options MIG/MAG and structural rivet repairs for replacing spot welds are ONLY to be used when STRSW is not an option.
NOTE:
Where structural adhesive (purple) is present, replace adhesive during the installation step. STRSW and structural rivets are the ONLY recommended options when structural adhesive is applied.
