Removal Procedure
Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning .
Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.
When installing the water deflector, ensure that the water deflector is securely fastened to the door inner before installing the door trim. An improper seal of the water deflector against the door inner may affect the ability of the front door pressure sensor to detect a side collision. This may result in improper airbag deployment and could cause bodily injury.
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
- Front Side Door Trim - Remove - Front Side Door Trim Removal and Installation
Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt(1) - Remove [2x]
- Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket(2) - Remove
Route front side door inside handle cable through hole in deflector (1).
- Front Side Door Water Deflector(1) - Remove
Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers.
- Front Side Door Window Garnish Molding Retainer(1) - Remove
- Pull outward starting at the front and moving slowly rearward to remove the window garnish molding (2).
- Front Side Door Window Garnish Molding(2) - Remove
Lift the front side door inner window sealing strip (1) off the pinch-weld flange.
- Front Side Door Inner Window Sealing Strip(1) - Remove
Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding Bolt(1) - Remove
- Using the appropriate tool, start at the rear and work forward, lift the front side door window belt reveal molding (2) up to remove it from the door flange.
- Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding(2) - Remove
Place the front side door window in the full up position and tape in place.
- Front Side Door Window Regulator Sash Retainer(1) - Release [2x]
- Place the front side door window regulator in the full down position.
Front Side Door Window Channel Front Retainer Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Front Side Door Window Channel Front Retainer (2) - Reposition
- NOTE:
Use care when removing the front side door window (1) not to scrape the glass against exposed metal edges inside the front side door frame.
Remove the masking tape holding the front side door window (1) and lower the window downward into the door frame while pulling up on the rear to remove the window from the door frame.
