Removal Procedure
Using a trim type release tool and starting at the top forward edge gently lift and release the retainers.
- Replace the retainers as necessary.
- Body Side Rear Molding(1) - Remove
- WARNING:
Refer to Eye Protection Warning .
Drill out the upper rear side door opening reveal molding rivet. (2). Remove and DISCARD
- Using the appropriate tool, release the upper reveal molding starting at the rear of the rear door.
- Upper Rear Side Door Opening Reveal Molding(1) - Remove
- Apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces.
- WARNING:
Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning .
NOTE:Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.
Use BO-24402-A Glass Sealant Remover (1) to remove the window (2).
- Leave a base of urethane approximately 2 mm (0.078 in) on the pinch-weld flange.
- The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
