Removal Procedure

NOTE:
The lower plenum is high strength low alloy steel. HIGH STRENGTH LOW ALLOY STEEL .
NOTE:
Refer to Collision Repair Specifications
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Remove all related panels and components.
- Remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
- Remove upper plenum panel. Plenum Upper Panel Replacement
- Remove all spot welds (1). [4x]
- Drill 8 mm (5/16") hole to remove all spot welds (1). [2x]
- Remove all spot weld (1). [7x]
- Remove all spot welds (1). [31x]
- Remove lower plenum (1) from the vehicle.
NOTE:
Do not damage or cut attaching panels and reinforcements.

The 8 mm (5/16") holes will be used for MIG/MAG welds.
