Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Collision Sectioning Warning .

NOTE:

The lower plenum is high strength low alloy steel. HIGH STRENGTH LOW ALLOY STEEL .

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  3. Remove all related panels and components.
  4. Remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
  5. Remove upper plenum panel. Plenum Upper Panel Replacement

  6. NOTE:

    Do not damage or cut attaching panels and reinforcements.

    NOTE:

    Left shown, right similar.

  7. Remove all spot welds (1). [4x]

  8. NOTE:

    Do not damage or cut attaching panels and reinforcements

    NOTE:

    The 8 mm (5/16") holes will be used for MIG/MAG welds.

    NOTE:

  9. Drill 8 mm (5/16") hole to remove all spot welds (1). [2x]

  10. NOTE:

    Do not damage or cut attaching panels and reinforcements.

  11. Remove all spot weld (1). [7x]

  13. Remove lower plenum (1) from the vehicle.
