Installation Procedure

NOTE:

Prepare bracket before installation.

  1. Prepare bracket per installation requirements.

    NOTE:

    Temporarily install the bracket for proper fit.

  2. Position bracket (1) to vehicle using 3 - dimensional measuring equipment.

    NOTE:

    The 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) on bracket and vehicle for rivet installation. [3X]

  3. Drill 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) on bracket and vehicle for rivet installation. [3X]

  4. Remove the bracket (1) from the vehicle.

    NOTE:

    Only remove E-coat where adhesive will be applied.

  5. Clean and prepare bracket and vehicle for adhesive according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
  6. Apply structural adhesive on the mating surfaces of bracket and vehicle according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING

  7. Install bracket (1) to vehicle and clamp into place.

  8. Install rivets (1) in bracket. [SR1 3X] Fastener Specifications
  9. Install all related panels and components.
  10. Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
  11. NOTE:

    Before refinishing, refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair

  12. Paint the repaired area. Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems
  13. Install all related panels and components.
  14. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  15. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling .
