Installation Procedure
NOTE:
Prepare bracket before installation.
- Prepare bracket per installation requirements.NOTE:
Temporarily install the bracket for proper fit.
- Position bracket (1) to vehicle using 3 - dimensional measuring equipment.NOTE:
The 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) on bracket and vehicle for rivet installation. [3X]
- Drill 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) on bracket and vehicle for rivet installation. [3X]
- Remove the bracket (1) from the vehicle.NOTE:
Only remove E-coat where adhesive will be applied.
- Clean and prepare bracket and vehicle for adhesive according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Apply structural adhesive on the mating surfaces of bracket and vehicle according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Install bracket (1) to vehicle and clamp into place.
- Install rivets (1) in bracket. [SR1 3X] Fastener Specifications
- Install all related panels and components.
- Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
- Paint the repaired area. Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems
- Install all related panels and components.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling .
