Spot Weld Removal / Structural Rivet Installation
- Remove spot weld (1) using 6.7 mm (17/64) drill bit.
- Using 6.7 mm (17/64) drill bit drill through all panels (2).
- Remove replacement part.
- Clean and prepare replacement part and vehicle for adhesive according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Apply structural adhesive (1) on the mating surfaces on replacement part and vehicle according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
- Install replacement part.
- Install structural rivet (2) Fastener Specifications
NOTE:
Only remove E-coat where adhesive will be applied.
NOTE:
Structural adhesive is recommended in conjunction with structural rivets.
