Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Prepare radiator side panel before installation.

  1. Prepare radiator side panel per installation requirements.

  2. NOTE:

    Temporarily install the radiator side panel for proper fit.

  3. Position radiator side panel (1) to vehicle using 3-dimensional measuring equipment.

  4. NOTE:

    Use 6.7 mm (17/64") holes for rivet installation.

  5. Drill 6.7 mm (17/64") hole (1) through radiator side panel for rivet installation. [3x]

  6. Remove the radiator side panel (1) from the vehicle.
  7. Prepare all joining surfaces for welding as necessary.
  8. Apply weld-thru coating or equivalent to all welding surfaces. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair

  9. NOTE:

    Only remove E-coat where adhesive will be applied.

  10. Clean and prepare radiator side panel and vehicle for adhesive according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING
  11. Apply structural adhesive (1) on the mating surfaces of radiator side panel and vehicle according to adhesive manufacturer's recommendations. METAL PANEL BONDING

  12. Install radiator side panel (1) to vehicle and clamp into place.

  13. Install rivets (1) in radiator side panel. [SR1 3x] Fastener Specifications

  14. Install spot welds (1). [27x]
  15. Install radiator lower support replacement bracket. Resistance Spot Welded Full Panel Replacement 
  16. Install radiator upper support replacement.
  17. Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area as necessary. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
  18. NOTE:

    Before refinishing, refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair

  19. Paint the repaired area. Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems .
  20. Install all related panels and components.
  21. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  22. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling .
