Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K32 Heated Steering Wheel Module and the harness connector at the S70L Cruise Control Switch.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 1 at the X1 harness connector and ground.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on circuit 5883.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  3. Test for infinite resistance between terminal 8 and terminal 6 at the S70L Cruise Control Switch with the steering wheel heater switch released
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the S70L Cruise Control Switch.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 40 Ω between terminal 8 and terminal 6 at the S70L Cruise Control Switch with the steering wheel heater switch pressed.
    • If 40 Ω or greater 

      Replace the S70L Cruise Control Switch

    • Go to next step: If less than 40 Ω 
  5. All OK.
