Installation Procedure
- Before installing the steering wheel, ensure that any debris or OLD adhesive patch is removed from the steering column shaft and the steering wheel mating surfaces.
- Prepare the steering wheel bolt for installation as follows:
- Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the steering wheel bolt.
- Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the steering wheel bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive along the length of the filled area of the threads on the bolt shaft.
- Steering Wheel (2) - Install
- Steering Wheel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 45 N.m (33 lb ft)
- WARNING:
When removing the Drivers Airbag (DAB), the airbag guide sleeves may get stuck in the steering wheel armature. Failure to remove the guide sleeves from the armature and properly reinstall them onto the DAB may result in damage or inoperable components related to airbag retention to the steering wheel. DAB retention failure during airbag deployment could cause injury.
Ensure the airbag module guide sleeves (1) are installed to the steering wheel airbag (2) before installing the steering wheel airbag to the steering wheel.
- Connect the electrical connectors.

CAUTION:
