Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
- When installing the steering column, align the upper intermediate steering shaft with the steering column shaft while positioning the steering column in the vehicle.
- Ensure the match marks on steering column shaft and the intermediate steering shaft are aligned.
Position the steering column (1) in the vehicle.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the steering column nuts (1) and tighten in the sequence shown to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
Before continuing, ensure the upper intermediate steering shaft (2) is completely installed on the steering column shaft.
- Before continuing, ensure the bearings in the intermediate steering shaft boots are positioned correctly and moving freely.
- Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
- Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Bracket (1) - Install - Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Bracket Replacement
- Instrument Panel Knee Bolster - Install - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement)
- Install fuse for the steering column lock control module.

- Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
