Installation Procedure
Position the steering column lower trim cover (1) on the steering column.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:The steering wheel will need to be rotated as necessary to install the forward facing fasteners.
Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
Squeeze the retaining tabs on the steering column opening closeout and attach the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the closeout.
- Before continuing, return the steering wheel 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.
Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column lower trim cover and secure all locking tabs along the right side of the trim covers.
- NOTE:
Failure to reposition the steering column upper trim cover locking tab into the recess on the steering column lower trim cover will cause interference between the upper trim cover and steering wheel while attempting to turn the steering wheel.
Before turning the steering wheel, reposition the steering column upper trim cover (1) along the left side of the trim covers so the locking tab (2) is resting inside the recess on the steering column lower trim cover.
- While holding the steering column upper trim cover (1) as directed in the previous step, turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.
Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column lower trim cover and secure all locking tabs along the left side of the trim covers.
- Return the steering wheel to the centered position.
