Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the B110 Battery Sensor Module. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 X2 and ground.
- If greater than 10 Ω
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
- Reconnect the X2 harness connector at the B110 Battery Sensor Module.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between terminal 1 X2 and battery negative terminal.
- If greater than 2 Ω
Repair the open or high resistance in the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω
- If greater than 2 Ω
- Disconnect the X1 harness connector at the B110 Battery Sensor Module.
- Test for less than 2 V between the positive battery terminal and B+ circuit terminal 2 X1 at the B110 Battery Sensor Module.
- If the difference is 2 V or greater and the circuit fuse is good
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the B+ circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, verify the fuse is good and there is voltage at the fuse
- If the difference is 2 V or greater and the circuit fuse is open
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for infinite resistance between the B+ circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace B110 Battery Sensor Module.
- Go to next step: If the difference is less than 2 V
- Engine running, measure and record the battery voltage at the battery terminals.
- Verify the difference between the recorded value and scan tool Ignition 1 Signal parameter value in the engine control module is less than 2 V.
- If the difference is 2 V or greater
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the ignition circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ignition circuit end to end at the Run/Crank IGN 1 Voltage at the K20 Engine Control Module and Run/Crank IGN 1 Voltage at the K125 Dual Battery Control Module
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K125 Dual Battery Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the difference is less than 2 V
- Replace B110 Battery Sensor Module
