When the System Does Not Seem to Work Properly

The side blind spot alert system displays may not come on when passing a vehicle quickly. side blind spot alert system may alert to objects attached to the vehicle, such as a bicycle or object extending out to either side of the vehicle. This is normal system operation; the vehicle does not need service.

The side blind spot alert system may not always alert the driver to vehicles in the side blind zone, especially in wet conditions. The system does not need to be serviced. The system may light up due to guardrails, signs, trees, shrubs and other non-moving objects. This is normal system operation; the vehicle does not need service.

The side blind spot alert system may not operate when the side blind spot alert system sensors on the front or rear bumper are covered with mud, dirt, snow, ice or slush or in heavy rainstorms. Frost or ice can form around and behind the sensors and may not always be seen; this can occur after washing the vehicle in cold weather.
