Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON/Vehicle In Service Mode.
  2. Verify no other DTCs are set.
    • Go to next step: If no other DTCs are set 
  3. Verify Module Malfunction Counter 1 data parameter is 0.
    • If parameter is not 0 

      Replace the K47 Rear Differential Clutch Control Module and Differential Carrier Assembly

    • Go to next step: If parameter is 0 
  4. Verify Module Malfunction Counter 2 data parameter is 0.
    • If parameter is not 0 
    1. Verify all Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counters data parameters are 0.
      • If any parameters are not 0
      • If any of Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 1, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 2, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 3, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 4, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 5, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 10, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 11, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 12, Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 13 are not 0 refer to Test 1.
      • If Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 6 or Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 7 are not 0, refer to Test 2.
      • If Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 8 or Power Transfer Unit Actuator Malfunction Counter 9 are not 0, refer to Test 3.
      • Go to next step: If all parameters are 0
    • Go to next step: If parameter is 0 
  5. Verify Module Malfunction Counter 3, Module Malfunction 4, and Module Malfunction 5 data parameters are 0.
    • If parameters are not 0 
    1. Record values of Module Malfunction Counter 3, Module Malfunction 4, and Module Malfunction 5.
    2. Ignition Off. Wait for 2 minutes.
    3. Ignition ON/Vehicle In Service Mode.
    4. Verify current values of Module Malfunction Counter 3, Module Malfunction 4, and Module Malfunction 5 are equal to recorded values.
      • If current values are greater than recorded values

        Replace K47 Rear Differential Clutch Control Module

      • Go to next step: If current values are equal to recorded values
    • Go to next step: If parameters are 0 
  6. Clear DTCs
  7. Operate vehicle within Conditions for Running the DTC.
  8. Verify DTC C056D does not reset.
    • If DTC resets 

      Replace K47 Rear Differential Clutch Control Module

    1. Operate vehicle within Conditions for Running the DTC.
    2. Verify DTC C056D does not reset.
      • If DTC resets

        Replace M115 Power Transfer Unit Shift Actuator

      1. Operate vehicle within Conditions for Running the DTC.
      2. Verify DTC C056D does not reset.
        • If DTC rests

          Replace Differential Assembly

        • Go to next step: If DTC does not reset
      • Go to next step: If DTC does not reset
    • Go to next step: If DTC does not reset 
  9. All OK
