Installation Procedure

  1. GM4579622

    Generator (3) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  2. If necessary, install the generator mounting stud. (2) - Tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  3. Generator Nut (1) - Hand tighten

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Drive Belt (1) - Install - Drive Belt Replacement

  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    NOTE:

    Anti-rotation tab is in the 4 o'clock position (arrow).

    Battery Positive Cable (2) - Install

  8. Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Install and tighten 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
  9. Lower the vehicle.

    Remove the generator nut (1).

    Generator Shield (3) - Install - Generator Shield Replacement (LTG)

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
